sabine: (Hector dies?!)
Over the last couple weeks, I've occasionally turned to Downwood and said something completely random. Examples may have included "Pirating is all well and good, but there's nothing like washing windows to really know your true worth" or "Frankie wondered where the rubber duck had gone to come home with that sort of makeup - and whose thong was that, anyway?"

Now, these have begun to take over my Twitter feed. I tag them all with #IB-L, so I've got 135 characters to work with. It's a surprisingly fun exercise, if a little bizarre.

That's fine with me. The more of these I get out of my head, the fewer there are to take up valuable book-reading and quilt-making space. Because, you know, the aliens have implanted microchips into tomatoes and the only way to foil their dastardly plans is to pair them up with either jalapeno or garlic, both of which jam the signal.

woohoo!

Life is good. I get to go to a latin-middle eastern fusion workshop instead of working all day on my birthday! And it's Thursday, which means that I got to go to dance class. And my new mp3 player is here and I may have even found the right drivers for it online.

I've been trying to think of ways to keep my brain happy. Since one of the things that has been making life suck is the feeling of my creativity draining away, I really wanted to address this problem. I think I've come up with a solution.

In the grand tradition of Iron Chef, Iron Photoshop, and Iron Poet, I hereby announce the opening of the first ever Iron Bulwer-Lytton! The rules are simple:
  1. Leave a comment with any three English words. Names are fine, but please nothing that I'll have to consult three dictionaries to understand.
  2. If you like, you can request a mood or theme, but I reserve the right to decline.

That's really it. I'll write opening paragraphs that may be horrifically bad or might turn into decent stories. Either way, I think it'll be entertaining and fun. I just ask that you don't try to break my brain with your word choices.
