For me: Sparrow Hill Road by Seanan McGuire! I need to finish Valour and Vanity first, but this is next on the list! Joy! Also, Regency Era Fitting Tips & Tricks by Jennifer Rosbrugh. It's mostly text and I'd really have liked to have more pictures, but lots of good information for my latest obsession. Help.
For Downwood: The Knowledge to Rebuild Our World From Scratch by Lewis Dartnell. Just in case, you know, of zombie or other apocalypse. Of course, if that happens, Ox will probably starve to death, so I'm hoping we never need this book.
For Ox: Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. A board book with flaps that he'll probably rip off sooner or later.
For Emi: This is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen. This is vastly entertaining to me. I assume a much darker ending than Emi did on our first read-through. It's funny and kind of creepy and I like it!
For Emi and Daddy: Moonshot by Brian Floca. Wow. It's the story of Apollo 11 with gorgeous illustrations and fantastic technical knowledge. After they read it, they had to pull up YouTube videos of the launch and moon landing so that Emi could see video of what the book was describing. Emi wants to be an astronaut when she grows up. So say we all, kiddo.
For Emi and Mommy: Infinity and Me by Kate Hosford. It's about a little girl who starts thinking about the concept of infinity. What is it? How do you grasp a concept that goes on forever? It's adorable and smart and about a girl who thinks about math and has beautiful pictures.
