I wonder if the Evil Empire has a chicken coop or goat pen where I could get a critter to sacrifice to the dark gods of Windows Media Player. Why? Because the infernal program refuses to acknowledge that I've ejected one CD and put a different one in. The new CD will play, but WMP thinks that it's playing tracks from the previous CD. Rent Disc 1 != Josh Groban or Jack Johnson or Blackmore's Night or even Rent Disc 2.
It used to be that I'd just have to exit WMP when I changed CDs and it would "wake up" and realize there's a different disc now. This isn't working today. The only thing I haven't tried is completely restarting my machine, because I'm in the middle of too many things that I don't want to have to navigate back to.
I'm running WMP 10. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've tried the tricks I know, cursing, smacking it, and begging. I don't know where the critters are kept, but I bet I can go to R&D and ask for one from their stash if that's what it takes. Grr.
