Remember, remember the fifth of November

Just got back from watching V for Vendetta. I must say that I was incredibly impressed with how they brought this story to life on the big screen. V's voice was astounding and you wouldn't believe how much emotion and expression can be transmitted through a hard plastic mask.
There was this one thing, though...I've read the graphic novels. I really like them. Would it have been too much to ask that they keep the ending the same?! Please? I mean, the general gist of it was the same, but I would have much rather had the one that I was expecting.
Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about this film. I'll be owning this one, rest assured.
