I figure that I should transcribe my thoughts on this speech, and record exactly what this "clear plan" entails.  And I'm going to be kept company by a glass of Old Krupnick to be drunk when he mispronounces something or the crowd applauds.  Here goes nothing.

  • He's thanking everyone at Fort Bragg.  Nice.
  • And then refers to himself in the third person.  Super.
  • Yay! First 9/11 reference!
  • How the hell did he pronounce "ideology" correctly?  He's a pod person!  Hooray!!
  • Another 9/11 reference, and bringing in his "take the fight to the enemy" line.
  • Yay!  Ideology again!  I'm so proud of the speechwriters.....
  • I don't think I like this "deal with extremeism abroad or when it comes to us"  and "trrrists"  I drink.
  • Laying the foundation of peace?  Are you fucking kidding me?
  • The suffering is real.  No, tell me something I didn' t know.
  •  - - Here stops the backspace key - -
  • Ruthless killedrs converging on Iraq?  What, you mean besides us?
  • Ideaology again!!  Must've been the word of the day last week.  Drinkies!
  • Hm, this is the third world war?  Realy?  Um....oh, dear.
  • A campaign of murder and destruction and no limit to innocent lives taken?  Oh, he's referring to what the "bad guys" are dong, not us.  Hypocrite.
  • The terrorists publicize what they do to those they capture, we cover it up.  I'm thinking that, in certain areas, we're not the good guys.
  • A democratic Iraqui guvernment...hm...really?
  • The terrorists kill the innocent but they cann't stop the advance of freedom.
  • ...maybe terrorism was a bad work to drink to
  • "This is not going to happen on my watch"  In between Teletubbies and BooBah?
  • Deasparate for reform - yea, I'd like to see that happen here
  • Going to help build infrastructure, economy, get them to take respoinsibility for themselves...I swear, I'd liek to see that happen here.
  • "Rebuilding a country after three decades of tryanny is hard"  Yeah, we're going to have out work cut out for us after only eight.
  • He's actually doing a decent job with pronunciation and diction and sounds, dare I say it, educated and informed.  Definitely a pod bperson.  This could be good.  Hoepfully.
  • I like the military audience just taking it in and being quiet, very unlike the congresspeople
  • Hm...are we teaching the Iraquis how to troture and interrogate their "suspected captured insugents and trrrists"?  Why do I ckeep typing Iraq with a u.?  mmm...honey whiskey...
  • Starge....um...start that one again...Strategy with military and political trak.  On the offense.  I guess this is good.
  • "As the Iraquis stand up, we will stand down".  Good.
  • I love how he says "trrrists"  it's ctue in a monkey-kinda way
  • Make them fully capable and indepentent.  Good.  Will ewe ever manage to get them to an acceptable level?  I'm seeing this as an overprotective mother sort of relationship.  Grr.
  • Hm.  Glass too full.  Must fix
  • An Iraq that can defeat it's (gah!  I can't belive I made that mistake)its enemies...um...like us?
  • Iraqi comrades.  That jsut sounds weird.
  • "helmping them with intelligence"  Yes, because we have just so much that it's easy to share.  Wait, NOT the IQ type of intellighence.  Phooey
  • We're trining them to do the fighting, then our troops cn come hopme.
  • Wow.  I can't type.
  • Setting an artificial timetable would send the wwrong message/signal to them, to us, to everyone.  Right.  How about giving us motivation to get our act togehter and teach fast and "completing the misstion"  Gah!  I can't believe this idiocy.
  • I will be guided by the dadvice that matters, the sober judgement of our military leaders".  Uh-huh.  My aarcasm detectors are going apeshit on that one.
  • "denide their basice rights while leaders enjoyed unchecked bpower".  like YOIU!!!!  you BASTARDE!!
  • grrrr
  • "write a good constituteion. freedoms in perment law"  Yes, because you're (aaaahhh!!!  where are my grammar skills.  oh year, at the bottom of the glass) regime doesn't have NANY similar goals.
  • Respects the will of the majority?  Um...don't 60% of Americans think that this whole Iragq thing was a abad idea?  Just asking.
  • Holy. Shit.  He's pronouncing nuclear correctly.  I'm in shock.
  • Ideaology-ies.  Definitely word of the day
  • Capable of any atrocity?  Respect no laws of warfare or morality?  Hm.  9/11 reference is sort of gratutous in this context.
  • Will not let our future be termined by car bombers?  Sure, because we only went to war because of them.  dumbass
  • Now they applaud.  They apparently like that we will stay in the fight until the fight is won.
  • Amnericans have always held fimr?  Then why is Viagra such a good seller?
  • Ideal of liberty is worth defending.  Yep, that's why I'm in the ACLU. though I misspelled my name on my join-up form.  oops.
  • Fly the flag to show your support.  Or burn in protest.  Ether way, you're a patriot.  At leats, that's how it SHOUILD be.  In my brain, at least.
  • Every generation protects ideals.  Yes, I choose to protect my basic rights as guarunteed unto me by the constitution.  I will prevail, or move to another country.  There are tims that expatriate sounds like a good career move.
  • Wow, that was surprisingly short and...yep, there goes thae theme song.
  • So, we're not going to send any more troops, but pulling out with a timetable is bad.  Um.  How is this a fucking clear plan?  Grr.  I know that I shouldn't ask for promises and such from mere politicians, but I'm very glad that I've had a lot of Roman histroy to give me help in picking out propaganad and hretoric.
  • I really can't type.
  • i'm going to go get soberer, finish my drink, and do what I can on my sewing.  Yes, that is a good plan for recovering from this speeck.
  • I'm impressed.  I don't want to be impressed.  I think that the speechwriter actually deserves some parise.  And I'm pretty sure aht er, that, they've been giving him some lessons on how to talk infrong er, in front of the camera.
  • Must turn off TV before it melts brain.  Damn sitcoms.  Oh dear.
  • That's all from this round of Politics and Booze.  I wish I were more sarcastic, I'm so not at my A Game tonight.
  • Bah.  Gonna finish my booze.  maybe fimish my drink.  yeah.
  • Though, upon standing up, I'm reminded just how potent this stuff is.  Yeah.  Good times lay ahead.
