 I put my dresses next to the sewing machine. 

I threaded the sewing machine. 

I said to the empty room, "Gee! It sure would be an amazing surprise if I came down tomorrow morning and these were hemmed!"

I went to bed.

But my dresses didn't get hemmed overnight.
