Weekend things

Highlights included:

• Watching Star Wars (episode IV) with Emi and Ox for the first time. I explained the role of the soundtrack, "This music tells you that the good guys are going to do something good, so even if it's a little scary, it's going to be okay" and of course "This music tells you that the bad guys are on the way, so get ready". It's nice that the good/bad line is clearly defined. Makes it easier on the nerdling.
• While watching, I finally finished the first CAL block for the Moogly project. Now I'm only 2 behind instead of 3. It was more and less complicated than I was afraid it would be, so that was nice.
• I did a ton of laundry. Like 8 or 9 loads of laundry. Eesh. It didn't help that there's something stinky in the living room carpet, so any blanket that spent any time on the floor got stinky and needed to be washed right away.
• Emi started selling GS cookies and ended her first two days of sale having made 4 phone calls and getting 1/3 of the way to her goal. All hail grandparents and aunts who want to support their kiddos.
• Talked to both my mom and my sister.
• Ordering pizza and reading fluffy romance novels on the 14th. Buying flowers for Emi (white daisies and red carnations).

Lowlights included:

• Having internal anxiety issues for most of the weekend. Just means that I don't really get to enjoy things - I just move through the motions. That's no fun and leads to the whole thing not feeling particularly restful.
• Not really sleeping worth a damn. I spend a lot of time in bed, but am restless and always wake up with my low back just SCREAMING at me.
• Not getting enough done off my far-too-ambitious list. I need to just take things as they come, but argh. Stupid overachieving brain.
• Both kids having a case of the sillies and the not-listening-to-mommas. Means that Momma has to raise her voice to catch attention, which is no fun for anyone.

Things to look forward to:

• Dance tonight.
• Some free time on my calendar this week that means I can maybe, just maybe, get work done
• Emi's GS meeting on Friday - she'll be able to say that she's a cookie-selling Rock Star.
• Model Train Expo this weekend. Downwood and the kidz are going. I am not. I will have Quiet Time. Oh, yes, this is something to look forward to.
