The weather forecasters are predicting !SNOW! for today. Not like Buffalo, but more than we've gotten yet this year. !SNOW! Panic! Let Pandemonium reign!

I'm trying to stay calm about the pile of work that's in front of me. I have searches and background jobs running on two of my projects and way more to go. My Total Workday Control method works well until I have a couple of days where I don't get enough done. Then everything falls apart and my anxiety kicks in and says that I'm a terrible human because I don't know my own limits and people pile things on me and the sky is falling.

So I take some deep breaths and add to the chaos that is my whiteboard. Over the last few weeks, when things get too crazy, I grab one of my dry erase markers and add the the design. It's based on my henna art and just keeps growing. It's pretty and it gives me a chance to center, which I need a whole lot on days like today.

The weekend was pretty good on the crafting front. I got some steps done on one project and got another project Finished. The problem with the Finished project is that the frame I bought for it isn't going to work. The design is *precisely* 5x7, so a 5x7 frame looks crowded. But, hey, Amazon sells frames that are 6x8, which will be lovely.

I didn't get the kitchen cleanup done this weekend. It's still chaotic, which needs to be addressed by Thursday. I got all my laundry done and almost all of it put away, though, so that's a good thing.

Emi and I went shopping on Saturday. She got her hair washed and cut, then we went to Target, HyVee (for allergy-safe cheese product), and Aldi's. She helped pick out a big bag of groceries to donate to the food drive going on at my work (Second Harvest). It's mostly chocolate, crackers, and spices, but she chose some other things, too. I dropped them off on my way into my office this morning, and I'll send in a check later in the week so they can buy what they really need.

Saturday afternoon, we cleared off most of the table and played some games. Emi doesn't like the Memory game we got at Target after getting her hair cut. She says it's boring. So, instead, we played Go Fish. Then Downwood and I played Pairs, which is delightful. Either I was very lucky or just better about knowing when to fold.

I guess it was a reasonably good weekend. I spent most of it in a depressive fog of not caring - exacerbated by an extremely early wake-up call from Ox Sunday morning - but looking back, I see that things happened that were good.

This week:
Today - Dance? Haul some of the junk out of the corner of the kitchen. Put in basement.
Tuesday - Make the cranberry sauce. Get pies out of freezer to thaw (yes, I'm cheating. No, I don't care).
Wednesday - Bake the pies. Organize drink counter - pull bottles of wine, find the percolator, get things in order.
Thursday - Roast the turkey, bake the ham. Prep and roast root veggies. Thaw corn and pan-roast. Vacuum. Find extra chairs.
Friday - Shop at spa and FLGS. Go home, sleep and eat leftovers
Saturday - Shop at local small stores. Sleep and eat leftovers.
