Today has been a relatively successful day on the sewing front. I finally finished putting the bias tape around the edges of my Corset of Doom. It's currently draped over a chair in the living room awaiting the pounding in of grommets by the Downwood.
I used broom straw for the boning again and Downwood made me a busk out of oak for the front. Because the boning extends down into the tabs around my waist and straw isn't too terribly durable, it's boned the entire way around. I have a sneaking suspicion that this one is going to be a heckuva lot tighter than the other one because of the huge increase in materials.
My Sooper Sekrit project started out interestingly this afternoon. I managed to dye some of the fabric in the washing machine with the bleeding from another piece of fabric, but the final color is actually kind of pretty, so I'm not terribly concerned about it. Had the usual snafus of sewing the wrong pieces together or getting stuff caught in seams that shouldn't be there, but the frequency of such occurrences is about normal.
I think video games, hot fudge sundaes, and wine are calling my name. I must respond appropriately. Yes.
