sabineDrank too much wine on Saturday. Also ate too much cheese and had too much fun. None of these things are bad. :) Also, "Rise of the Guardians" is actually quality cinema. Emi didn't understand why we were laughing so hard in places, but it was awesome. Gaming had some good character development, even though I didn't want to deal with any throw-downs. Mostly, I just wanted to hang out with adults and be silly.
And drink wine. Because, wine.
Sunday was good. It was gloriously sunny and warm, so I pulled both kids and Downwood outside. I convinced Emi to help me pick up sticks while Downwood dismantled some of the bigger branches that came down over the winter. Ox was less than enthusiastic about being outside. He wasn't thrilled about walking on the grass, pinecones don't taste good, and we wouldn't all stay in one place long enough for him to keep track of us.
Ox was very happy when I brought out applesauce packets (like juice boxes, but applesauce. totally awesome), apple slices, and pear slices, and we all sat on the deck and had a snack together.
After doing laundry and playing GW2, we went up to Home Despot. I bought some yard stuff and supplies to make a storage bin for out back. We also ran into our neighbors and Emi had a meltdown when we said they had to go and she couldn't go with them. I also found cheap cedar boards for another raised garden bed...and then had my hands start to break out because I'm allergic to cedar oil. We had some fun in the tile aisle, looking at all the cool options for the Someday Maybe project of Redoing The Upstairs Bathrooms.
So, yeah, good weekend. I should have danced or crafted, since that would have made it perfect, but it was great to stay home and have fun as a family.
