Life fails to suck
Aug. 11th, 2012 02:55 pmToday has been filled with awesome things. Ox slept through the night, though he awoke early. I'll take an early-morning wake up call over having to get up with him 2-4 times and then sleep in at the end of it. He and I hung out, both had something to drink, then went to buy donuts. When we got back, Emi was up and sad because she couldn't find us, so we sat on the couch, had some breakfast, and watched some cartoons.
I got to take some pictures of the kids, then Emi and I headed out back. She wandered around taking pictures of the yard and I read a homebrew catalog and drank my coffee. It's finally not death-levels of hot and dry, so it was a blissful way to get caffeinated.
By that point, Ox really needed a nap, so Emi and I headed up into town to do some shopping. We picked out colorful plates and hats for their birthday party next weekend. We also made a detour through Frugal Muse and bought some pretty awesome books. The store has very high shelves, so there are small stepladders throughout the store to allow browsing of all the books. Emi had to climb every. single. stepladder. All of them. As we were leaving, she saw one that she missed, so we had to go back, climb it, and then leave.
We made a quick run through the store for snacks, bought some tacos, and came home. In a bit, I'm going to do some more dishes, fold laundry, then maybe get some work done at my sewing table. Or maybe just continue cleaning the kitchen in anticipation of invasion next weekend. We'll see. Life fails to suck. In fact, it feels pretty good right now, so I'm refusing to give in to my messed up brain chemistry that's living in opposite world.
