The iced mochas from McDonald's are delicious. The brownie melts are too sweet, but still somehow good.

I have three invite codes for Dreamwidth. If you'd like one, drop me a comment.

That is all.

Well, not entirely for me. Let me explain. No, is too much, let me sum up.

When I stayed with my aunt and uncle Sunday night, my aunt said I could poke through their bookcases to see if there was anything I was interested in for the evening or to borrow. I noticed that every single Little House on the Prairie book was there and was told that the oldest girl - 9.5 years old - went on a tear and devoured them all this year. Shortly thereafter, I was asked my opinion on the Twilight books as appropriate reading material.

My response: Not so much, since I tend to not like books where the female protagonist is professionally helpless.

My aunt asked if I knew of any good series that she could give to Anna. She's looking for stories with good role models, humor, but not too "adult". Here's my list:
  1. Anything by Tamora Pierce, but I'm especially fond of the Trickster duet and the Bloodhound duet.
  2. Wee Free Men
  3. The Series of Unfortunate Events
  4. The Blue Sword
  5. Coraline

I know there are more out there, but that's what I came up with at the time. I also showed her Goodreads and will be sending her an email with a link to my direct bookshelf and maybe even a special shelf set up for her.

What other books would you add to the list?
