hm...

Part of the reason that I like D&D and other such RPGs so much is that I get to pretend to be some fairly ordinary person who just happens to have superpowers. I'm going to lump both arcane and divine magic in with psionics, the Force, and most of the feats that make a character a step up from the mundane people in that world. Hero or villain, mage or priest, ninja or pirate, these things don't matter so much - it's that I get to play pretend with my friends and tell stories.
