yes, we really are just that exciting.

Chili is almost done simmering. Bread is cooling. The rum cake turned out to be much more of a RUM!cake than I expected, but it still tastes good.  Even though I walked the dog and went to the grocery store, I managed to avoid pants entirely.

There's a bottle of champagne in the fridge, football on the tv, and something else that makes sense.

As for me, I have once again circled round to that point in introspection where I'm reminded of my flaws and the myriad ways that I'm not quite good enough.  But then my wonderful husband comes over, kisses my head, and tells me that there's no one else he'd rather have beside him, faults and all.

If 2007 is better than 2006, it'll take some sort of heavy-duty miracle.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing it.
