May have miscalculated

The on-campus food options are closed this week at werk. Next week is the Evil Empire's Massive Shindig Of DOOOOM, so our culinary staff is busting ass this week to get ready for it. Since I wouldn't be able to easily get breakfast or lunch at work, I decided to use this as a kick in the pants to get back into the habit of packing bentos.

My breakfast bento was a bowl of steel cut oatmeal cooked with quinoa for added protein. And a lot of brown sugar and cinnamon because I'm me.

My lunch bento...I may have made a strategic error here. I packed some Emi-safe turkey meatballs from the fridge and a container of rice and sweet corn. That's fine and was smart. However, I packed a wee cup of barbeque sauce for the dipping of the meatballs. It's reasonably spicy. I also made a salad. It had cucumber, carrot, green onions, and celery diced up fine. I dressed it with oil, vinegar, and mirin and added a couple dashes of a spicy seasoned salt blend. Then, I diced up a little bit of pepper jack cheese.

The salad plus the bbq sauce may have been an overestimation for what I can handle while at my desk, on the phone, eating lunch while on mute. I can't exactly go fill up my water cup until this call is over.

It's a good burn. I'll just keep telling myself that.
