It's been an odd couple of days. I'm not sure if it's good or bad just yet. *grin* I don't know how this game will turn out, but I'm enjoying playing it so far. What's that? You want me to be less vague? *chortle* Good luck with that. Let me know how that works out for you. I'm gonna turn up the mystery and inscrutability another notch in response.

Go here. Now. The Grammar Nazi commands it.

Francis Crick died today. Moment of silence. As a memorial, I would suggest that everyone read THE Paper. Don't worry, it's not too terribly technical. It's a gorgeous piece of scientific writing, laced liberally with British understatement.

What do I mean by that?

We wish to suggest a structure for the salt of deoxyribose nucleic acid (D.N.A.). This structure has novel features which are of considerable biological interest.

I mean, really, look at that statement. Saying that DNA is of "considerable biological interest" is like saying that water is wet.

Anyway, here's the Quotes of the Moment:
Beauty, truth, friendship, love, creation - these are the great values of life. We can't prove them, or explain them, yet they are the most stable things in our lives.
- Jesse Herman Holmes

Penetrating so many secrets, we cease to believe in the unknowable. But there it sits nevertheless, calmly licking its chops.
- H. L. Mencken
